Introduction of Registration
Fees for 2008
As a result of
ever increasing operation costs we have started introducing Registration
Fees to cover fees for membership in governing bodies which are
required for all members. Currently we are only charging this to new members,
however, starting January 1, 2008 all members will be required to
pay an annual registration fee to cover these external expenses.
Membership organizations
that you belong to as a result of these fees are Karate Alberta,
National Karate Association, Alberta Chito Kai, Canadian Chito Kai
Association & International Chito Ryu Karate Federation. These are valuable to all
members for the purposes of subsidized clinics throughout the year for
students and instructors , subsidies available
for participation into local, regional, national and
international competitions and affiliated training programs, as well
as low cost group liability insurance for Dojo members.
Starting January
1, 2008 all kyu belt members will have $60 per year added to
their January fees.
Any members joining throughout the year will be required to pay a
pro-rated amount calculated as $5 per month for each month
remaining in the calendar year from the month they join the Dojo.
This fee cannot
be paid on a monthly
basis because we are required to pay the governing organizations for the
entire time remaining in the year regardless of whether a member
continues to come to class, or if they decide to take the summer off, or
if they are a drop in student.
Also, no family discount can be
applied to this portion of your Dojo fees as
the governing organizations do not offer family discounts as you may be
receiving from the Dojo. Also, these organizations do not discern
between children, youth or adults.
if you have any
questions or want to find out how you can take advantage of the many
programs available as a member of these organizations please contact any
of your instructors. The first of these benefits can be utilized by
attending the upcoming Kyoshi Higashi Clinic which is free to all
registered members.

Use
of payment slip for Monthly Fees
Some individuals
are depositing their monthly fees in the fee box without taking the time
to use the payment slips provided. Please note that the payment slip is an
important part of your payment and avoids confusion for tracking of fees.
This is especially relevant for cash payments, however, it should be
utilized for cheque payments as well to ensure you receive proper credit
for your payments.
We
also appreciate fees for the upcoming month to be paid before the
1st of each month as this makes it much easier for payment of our ongoing
expenses and allows for timely record keeping & reporting and helps
to keep the focus on Karate rather than administration. Thank you in advance for your understanding
and consideration.
